Gruppe von Empfehlungen der ITU für die Zweiwegevideokommunikation (z. B. Videokonferenzsysteme oder Bildtelefone). H.320 besteht aus mehreren Unterstandards (z. B. H.261 zur Videokodierung und H.221 für das Multiplexen von Audio-, Video-, Daten- und Steuerinformationen) und ist auf Übertragungen über das ISDN abgestimmt. H.263 ist eine Weiterentwicklung des Verfahrens nach H.261 und wurde im Rahmen des Standards H.324 speziell für den Bereich niedriger Datenraten unterhalb von 64 Kbit/s, beispielsweise über Modem und analoge Telefonleitungen, optimiert.
